📈 Significant Mid-Season Growth

  • By mid-season 2024/25, Morocco had already exported nearly 42,000 tonnes, reflecting a 73% increase compared to the same period last year.
  • Historically, the peak export period occurs between January and February, suggesting the possibility of surpassing the current record in the 2025/26 season.

🌍 Key Export Destinations

  • Spain, France, and the Netherlands remain the top buyers of Moroccan avocados, accounting for over 80% of total exports.
  • Switzerland, Belgium, and Portugal also saw a notable increase in imports.
  • Exports to Canada and Turkey resumed after a temporary halt, further diversifying Morocco’s export reach.

🚢 Expanded Global Reach

  • In the first half of the 2024/25 season, Morocco exported avocados to 25 countries, compared to only 19 countries for the entire 2023/24 season.
  • This expanded market presence indicates Morocco’s growing influence as a key player in the global avocado trade.

🔮 Future Outlook:

  • With strong mid-season performance and increasing demand, Morocco is on track to surpass its record in 2025/26, solidifying its position as a leading exporter in the global avocado market.
  • Continuous efforts to maintain quality and meet international standards will likely boost Moroccan avocado exports to even more destinations in the coming years.
